This week in the Close Encounters series we will be looking at the encounter of the man known only as the Rich Young Rule with Jesus and how this meeting could have been life enriching but the choices he made left him with sadness. Since it is also St. Patrick's Day, we will look at St. Patrick's encounter with Jesus and how it changed the world as we know it through his surrendering of his life to God.

Today's world applauds leadership far above following; yet, Jesus words, "Come, follow me" caused his 12 disciples to leave everything to follow Him and it changed their lives and the entire world. Even with all of that, Peter and Judas both exchanged "following a way" for "falling away". This week we look at Peter and Judas and how falling away does not mean you cannot once again follow Jesus.

In week #2 of our close encounters series, we will look at the story of Zacchaeus and how everything from a worldly point of view look amazing; yet, he really had a tremendous void. That void was only filled through an encounter with Jesus. Today, our lives may look great; yet, we walk around with a major whole in our lives without encountering Jesus as Lord of our lives.
